Community Protocol Committees
Steering Committee
Helps guide the development of the Protocol and provide advice on the overall Protocol framework and content.
The Steering Committee is comprised of ICLEI local government members who have an interest or expertise in community inventory issues, along with climate researchers and experts from other relevant organizations/agencies with expertise in greenhouse gas emissions accounting and/or relevant sector expertise.
Technical Advisory Committees (TACs)
Built Environment
This includes government, residential, commercial and industrial emissions from buildings and other stationary sources as well as land use issues surrounding land use and land use conversion. This group will sort out issues of attribution for these sources that serve or affect multiple communities.
Life Cycle Emissions
This includes upstream and downstream emissions from fuels, foods and other goods and services that are consumed or produced by the community.
Transportation and Mobile Sources
This includes emission from cars, trucks, mass transit, air travel and other sources that take place within, or emanate from the community. This group will sort out issues of attribution for inter-jurisdictional travel.
Agriculture
This includes emissions that occur as a result of livestock, cropping practices, tilling and other related practices.
Solid Waste
This includes emissions from landfills, community generated waste and issues surrounding attribution of these emissions to relevant communities.
Wastewater
This includes emission from wastewater treatment plants and the issues of attribution when multiple jurisdictions utilize one plant.
