The Town of Hamden, CT has developed a Local Action Plan to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, as well commit to a 20% reduction in emissions by 2010. Many of the opportunities identified in the Local Action Plan are being implemented or are currently in feasibility analysis. Highlights include LED traffic signals, a 4kw solar installation, bio-diesel fuel purchase, an anti-idling ordinance, significant progress in a fuel-cell installation, and exploration of methane to energy facility at the former Town landfill.
