2009 National Conversation on Climate Action
![]()
The first National Conversation on Climate Action on October 4, 2007, was a resounding success in more than 70 cities, towns and counties across the country.
Back By Popular Demand…The next National Conversation on Climate Action will be held on Earth Day 2009 (April 22).
The National Conversation on Climate Action on April 22, 2009 (Earth Day), will engage an unlimited number of communities to drive substantive, solutions-oriented dialogues about climate action opportunities at the local level.
In support of your local events, this year we will be offering advanced tools for connecting with local scientists and other experts, engaging your community in genuine action-oriented dialogue, and plugging into regional, national and international networks of local governments working for climate protection.
The Climate Conversation website will serve as the hub of information and interactivity for all events. Stay tuned for new features on the website expected in early fall 2008.
Choosing Earth Day was a natural fit, as it allows local governments to better leverage existing resources, messages and community enthusiasm. ICLEI is partnering with Yale’s School of Forestry and Environmental Studies and AmericaSpeaks. Together we will be reaching out to a variety of partners to engage in this effort and support the work of local governments driving climate solutions.
