Webinar: Metropolitian Transportation Planning and Local Governments

ICLEI is excited to announce a webinar on Thursday, Nov. 12 at 1 p.m. Eastern, on metropolitan transportation planning and its relationship to local governments. The webinar is being held in conjunction with the New York Metropolitan Transportation Council.

Join us to learn and discuss how your local government can influence and access federal transportation funding. Federal regulations prescribe a planning process in metropolitan regions as a basis for federal transportation funding. This process brings together agencies and jurisdictions into regional councils, whose planning work results in improvements to transportation services and facilities.

Our presentation will provide an overview of the metropolitan transportation planning process and its relationship to local officials and governments. It will also highlight the recently adopted Regional Transportation Plan of the New York Metropolitan Transportation Council to illustrate both the planning process and its relationship to local interests.
