CACP Software 2009

CACP 2009 is a one-stop emissions management tool that calculates and tracks
emissions and reductions of greenhouse gases (carbon dioxide, methane,
nitrous oxide) and criteria air pollutants (NOx, SOx, carbon monoxide,
volatile organic compounds, PM10, PM 2.5) associated with electricity,
fuel use, and waste disposal.
CACP 2009 was created to support emissions
inventorying and climate action planning based on the principles and
methods of the Local Government Operations Protocol (LGOP). |

Update: New Release
- On April 9, 2010, ICLEI released CACP 2009 Version 2.2.1b. Users of the CACP 2.2.1 Patch will not need to download a new patch. 2.2.1b replaces the original CACP Software,
released in 2003. To learn more about this upgrade, read our Version 2.2.1 FAQ.

This tool can help you do the following:
- Create emissions inventories for the community as a whole or for the government's internal operations.
- Quantify the effect of existing and proposed emissions reduction measures.
- Predict future emissions levels.
- Set reduction targets and track progress towards meeting those goals.

More About This Software
In 2001, ICLEI joined forces with the National Association of Clean Air Agencies (NACAA) and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to build a software product that helps local governments create greenhouse gas inventories, quantify the benefits of reduction measures, and formulate local climate action plans. The result -- the original CACP Software -- has been helping local governments for five years develop climate action plans that harmonize strategies to reduce both greenhouse gas and air pollution emissions.
In 2008, ICLEI partnered with the California Air resources Board and the California Climate Action Registry to develop LGOP. This emerging standard describes methods and data requirements that, in some cases, differed from those in the original CACP. ICLEI is releasing CACP 2009 to support LGOP.
