Northeast Clean School Bus Initiative
ICLEI and the EPA: Partnering to create cleaner school buses
Through the EPA’s Northeast Clean School Bus Initiative, ICLEI administered grants and worked with five local governments in the Northeast that committed to reduce diesel exhaust on at least 100 school buses via retrofits using diesel oxidation catalysts (DOCs), diesel particulate filters (DPFs), and biodiesel fuel. The extensive resources listed here serve to help other communities replicate these efforts and start their own clean school bus initiatives.
