Men Setting up Solar Panel Creating good jobs through energy efficiency has been a strong focus of ARRA. Through the State Energy Program, the CEC has prioritized training workers to perform energy retrofits. Local governments are important partners in this work and can support and facilitate green jobs programs in their communities.

Green Jobs Training Program Funding awarded! The CEC has made energy efficiency training a priority with this program, and is giving over $70 million to local workforce investment boards and community colleges throughout the State ($20 million from SEP funds).

Comprehensive Residential Building Retrofit Program

Available now! The CEC’s competitive funding program will fund local government collaborations that facilitate residential retrofits by providing energy efficiency training, marketing, financing, and verification assistance to homeowners and building professionals.

Municipal and Commercial Building Retrofit Program

Available now! This competitive program will fund public-private partnerships that develop programs to establish volume purchasing agreements, conduct energy efficiency training, deploy retrofits, and otherwise facilitate energy efficiency retrofits.

Competitive EECBG Funding from DOE

DOE has released a Request for Information regarding competitive EECBG funds for collaborations of local governments who pursue innovative approaches to funding energy efficiency retrofits and creating good job opportunities for their communities.
