Lily Hill
Bookkeeper
Bookkeeper - Oakland, CA
Lily Hill has worked as a full-charge bookkeeper for various for-profit
and non-profit organizations since 1980. She joined ICLEI, USA, in
December of 2003, as the bookkeeper, working closely with the Finance
and Operations Department. She appreciates the opportunity to serve an
environmental project with her creative and organizational skills.
Lily participated in the first Earth Day, April 22, 1970, when she was
a teacher in Oregon. Through her travels, she became aware of the
interconnectedness of the world’s nations, and the interdependency of
local policies on the global politics. She studied the environment and
ways that individuals could live their lives to positively affect the
world. Eschewing plastic in her home, and espousing a life-style that
involved organic gardening and cooking, as well as natural childbirth,
she began to teach her students and family about organic foods, natural
fibers, and the use of alternative healing, including homeopathy,
massage, yoga, and visualization.
