Don Knapp

Communications and Marketing Director - Oakland, CA

Don Knapp joined ICLEI in July 2008. As Communications and Marketing Director, Don leads ICLEI's communications strategy and marketing efforts, including media outreach, website management, membership marketing, social media, and content development for ICLEI’s website, blog, and e-newsletter. Don serves as the spokesman for the organization.

Don's efforts help ICLEI members learn from one another, and keep them in touch with timely events, national and regional news, and the latest ICLEI tools and resources. Through targeted media campaigns, Don also helps ICLEI and its members gain recognition for their successes and innovations.

Prior to ICLEI, Don spent a combined 10 years as a writer, editor, and communications strategist in the custom publishing industry. He has launched, written for, and edited many dozens of magazines and newsletters for a wide range of organizations. He is a graduate of The Pennsylvania State University.
