Annie Elizabeth Strickler joined ICLEI USA as Communications Director
in January 2007. Annie directs the organization’s communications and
web strategy while working with ICLEI staff to provide content and
resources for the media. She also works with ICLEI member
jurisdictions, mayors, and other local government leaders to help them
be more active and effective voices for local leadership on climate
protection measures.
Prior to joining ICLEI, Annie served as Deputy Press Secretary at
Sierra Club for 5 years where she provided communications support on
issues such as Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and offshore drilling
and public lands protection. She earned a master’s degree in mass
communications from the University of Florida and a bachelor’s degree
from the University of the South (Sewanee).
