Amruta Sudhalkar

Amruta is a Program Officer with ICLEI USA’s Membership and Customer Care Division. She provides technical support for climate and sustainability initiatives to ICLEI's local government members in California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, Alaska, and Hawaii. Amruta assists members with using ICLEI's tools and resources; she offers policy support and helps local governments share best practices.
Amruta also delivers technical trainings to local government staff on various topics related to climate and sustainability planning, including greenhouse gas inventories.
Amruta has professional experience in providing trainings and technical assistance to local governments and community organizations. She has also worked as an environmental health/safety engineer at Stanley Bostitch, a fastening tools manufacturing company. Prior to joining ICLEI USA, Amruta was enrolled in a graduate program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her research focused on adaptation to climate change in glacier-dependent cities of the Indian Himalayas. Her interests include engaging local governments in order to mainstream climate and sustainability considerations into local government and community sectors.
Amruta holds a Master’s degree in City Planning and Environmental Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with an emphasis on Environmental Policy/Planning and Water Quality.
